Jeffrey High

I’m a freelance editorial photographer/writer living in Stanwood with my wife, Nancy. Our son, Eric, is an English major at Eastern Washington University. Our daughter Laura lives in Bellingham where she is an Elementary Music teacher in the Bellingham School District. She also is the Youth Director at Stanwood United Methodist Church.

I’m an unabashed dog lover.  We have a Black Lab and a Yorki-Pekinese mix,  as well as a couple of cats. Wayne (the black lab) and I visit the Josephine Sunset Home on a regular basis to spread some love and comfort amongst the residents there.

Our family has had a summer home at Sundin Beach since 1940, so I consider myself somewhat of a “local” even though I was born and raised in Ballard.  I spent many wonderful summers at the beach as a child, and still enjoy it today.  I have fond memories of Wally’s, Ovenell’s, the Juniper Beach Store, etc.

I have a wide variety of interests… a couple of which you may have already guessed are weather and railroads.  But I also enjoy boating, mountaineering, history, reading, and road trips.

I publish my own blog here, and my professional website is here.  Check them out and let me know what you think

In addition to making sure everything Roy collects gets posted here in a timely manner, I’ll be adding links I think are interesting and maybe a photo or two.  If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.

Or twitter.

    Dear Jeffrey,
I believe I have you to thank for including me in the group of people fortunate enough to receive this. THANK YOU!
I read articles about people in our community I know and those I would like to know.
I found the information very “readable”, informative and, in cases, inspirational.
My thanks for all who contributed!
    Gratefully,
    Darlene Hartley

    Jeff:
It’s “Chicken Chats”, not “Chicken Cats” and there is a much better picture at my web site which you should be able to lift and use. I always post the newsletters to it (www.theopengatefarm.com) and put pictures there so those on dial up don’t die of malnutrition were I to include a photo in the newsletter. If that’s not possible, let me know and I’ll send it along to you.
    Hang in there!

    Happy Hoeing,
    Jon
